Katarina and James celebrated their summer wedding on the bride’s family property with colourful flowers, surrounded by family and friends. Initially, the couple wanted a neutral flower colour palette, but later chose to go with a colourful, bright summer palette. And, we are so glad! We all loved it! The pop of bright flowers made everything in the outdoor green spaces look so gorgeous the day of! It was such a pleasure helping celebrate this amazing couple on their special day.
Bouquets of Colourful Flowers
One of the brightest and warmest colour palettes we ever did see! This bridal bouquet definitely takes the cake as our favourite from this wedding season. Poppies, peonies, ranunculus, tulips, garden roses, sweet pea, scabiosa, and clematis made this bouquet a dream to bring together. In the bridesmaids bouquet recipes, we used the same varieties, just exchanging some of the colours of the varieties. This helps to create a cohesive look without being too uniform and the same. We absolutely love how the colourful bouquets look against the simplicity and beauty of the champagne satin dresses.
The Colourful Tablescapes
We used a pop of dusty blue brought in the linens versus using white linens to allow the flowers to have a smoother transitional tone on the table. When designing your reception space, be sure to consider all your details as a whole. Even though we did not have blue flowers, the pop of dusty blue was the perfect cool tone to allow all of the warmth in the flower arrangements to pop. A lush U-shaped head table was used for the wedding party and our hedge arrangements were the highlight of this table. We couldn’t get enough of the variety of shape of arrangements and all of the candles.
A Tented Reception
With the wedding taking place on the bride’s family property, a stunning sail cloth tent from Guelph Tents was ordered and set up in the field. Also, this summer day happened to have some some extreme heat, meaning we had to put some extra precautions in place to ensure that the flowers would hold up outdoors. On days with extreme heat, water and shade is a flower’s best friend. We watered all of the arrangements several times, mist sprayed them, and kept them in the shade until absolutely necessary to be put into place.
